The “Not in My Name” protest ended without incident on Friday night after demonstrators gathered for the 17th consecutive evening to protest the Kosovo Specialist Chambers’ verdicts against former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders.

The protest initially began in central Prishtina before demonstrators marched on foot toward the Ministry of Justice.

At both the government building and the Ministry of Justice, protesters called for the approval and submission of amendments to the law governing the Specialist Chambers.

Protest organizer Çlirim Haziri called on Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla, who has also served in a government role, to move the proposed legislation forward, saying the protesters would continue their demonstrations until their demand is addressed.

“We brought our demand from the government to the doors of this ministry. We are asking Minister Donika today to submit that law concerning the KLA. Submit it, because on her desk lies the dignity of our nation and our national identity. And we will not stop for a single night until this ministry submits the law,” Haziri said.

The demonstration concluded without any reported incidents.

The “Not in My Name” protests have been held nightly following the Specialist Chambers’ verdicts, with organizers calling for institutional action regarding the court and legislation concerning its legal framework.
