The White House confirmed that former U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the discussion on social media as “positive.”
According to the Kremlin, Trump was briefed on the Russian claim of a drone attack targeting a presidential residence of Putin. Putin’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, reportedly said that Trump appeared shocked when informed about the alleged incident.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Trump and Putin would hold another call “very soon” following their conversation yesterday.
Trump characterized the talks as “productive” and stated that he would update Putin after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida.
