On the 83rd anniversary of the birth of Albanian intellectual, political thinker, and activist Ukshin Hoti, Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti paid tribute to his legacy, saying that Hoti’s influence transcends both time and place, living on wherever his ideas, work, and ideals of freedom endure.
Kurti announced that, on this anniversary, he visited the digital exhibition “DheShkronjë” at the amphitheater of the House Museum in Krusha e Madhe. The exhibition was prepared by the Government Commission on Missing Persons with the support of the National Museum of Kosovo.
According to Kurti, the exhibition uses a contemporary approach to storytelling and remembrance, creating a unique map of the life, work, and legacy of Ukshin Hoti.
“It connects his birthplace, his life journey, the spaces of his political and intellectual engagement, as well as the places where his name and work are honored today. Professor Ukshin Hoti is not confined to a physical location or a specific period of time; rather, he extends wherever his thought, work, and ideal of freedom continue to live,” Kurti wrote on Facebook.
Ukshin Hoti remains one of the most influential Albanian political thinkers of the late 20th century. He disappeared during the Kosovo War in 1999 after being released from a Serbian prison, and his fate remains unresolved, making him one of Kosovo’s most prominent missing persons.
