The Presidency of Kosovo has released a letter that U.S. Congressman Keith Self sent to Vjosa Osmani on January 12, following the extraordinary elections of December 28, reports Express.
In the letter, Self highlighted the successful completion of the elections, attributing it to the strong and responsible participation of Kosovo’s citizens, the resilience of the country’s constitutional order, commitment to democracy, and the work of President Osmani.
The Kosovar Presidency interpreted this letter as a “strong endorsement” from Congressman Self for Osmani, who is already pursuing re-election for another presidential term.
Recently, Osmani’s office clashed with German FAZ journalist Michael Martens, who criticized the President for promoting the film of former First Lady Melania Trump, arguing that Osmani was attempting to position herself as a presidential candidate supported by Trump and the U.S.
The situation escalated to the point that the Presidency has threatened legal action against Martens over his statements regarding Osmani.
