The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has sent a congratulatory message to Vjosa Osmani on the occasion of Kosovo’s national holiday.
In his official letter dated February 17, 2026, Mattarella conveyed “the best wishes of the Italian people, as well as my personal wishes,” highlighting the close and friendly relationship between the two countries.
The Italian president praised the continued cooperation between Rome and Pristina, underlining their shared commitment to peace and stability in Kosovo. He emphasized that this cooperation provides a strong foundation for deepening and expanding bilateral relations across various fields.
In his message, Mattarella reaffirmed Italy’s unwavering support for Kosovo’s European path, as well as that of the broader region. According to him, achieving this objective remains essential, and Italy will continue contributing toward that goal.
He also stressed the importance of the normalization process with Belgrade, calling for renewed momentum in advancing the dialogue.
