The inaugural meeting of the Peace Board has officially begun in Washington, D.C. Initial images released from the venue show leaders representing participating countries gathered for the first session.
The meeting is taking place at the American Peace Institute, which President Donald Trump recently renamed after himself.
Among the participants are President Vjosa Osmani of Kosovo and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. In the live broadcast from the event, President Osmani is seen seated in the front row alongside President Trump.
According to international media, each participant is expected to deliver brief remarks of up to two minutes.
Also present at the meeting are:
- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio
- Jared Kushner, senior advisor and Trump’s son-in-law
- U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz
- U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff
- Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair
- High Representative Nickolay Mladenov
The gathering marks the first formal session of the Peace Board initiative.
