Members of the informal biker group “Bajkeri uz Studente”, together with “Beli Zečevi” from Novi Sad, began a protest ride through Belgrade at 18:00 today, according to Insajder TV.
The protest follows the police seizure of four motorcycles on the evening of Tuesday, February 17, which were parked at the First Basic Court in Belgrade.
Bikers participating in a student protest at Ušće Park that evening stated that they had parked the motorcycles with the permission of court security, who informed them it was a non-working day and that the motorcycles should be removed by morning.
One biker explained that when asking police where the motorcycles were being taken, he was told they were sent for inspection at UBPOK in Makiš, a process that could last up to three months.
Following the seizures, dozens of police officers surrounded citizens who had gathered to support the bikers, preventing them from approaching the parking area. After identifying some attendees, the police allowed the crowd to disperse.
This protest ride highlights ongoing tensions between civic groups and authorities over enforcement measures and citizen rights in public spaces.
