Heavy snowfall paralyzed Frankfurt on Thursday, covering roads, rooftops, bicycles, and e-scooters, while cold winter conditions caused significant disruptions to air traffic.
Frankfurt Airport, Germany’s largest and one of Europe’s busiest hubs, reported dozens of flight cancellations and delays due to severe weather. According to FlightAware data, 83 flights were canceled, and arrival delays averaged over an hour.
Airport authorities deployed snowplows to clear the runways, while pedestrians struggled to navigate snow-covered streets and sidewalks throughout the day.
This disruption in Frankfurt is the latest in a series of weather-related travel issues in recent weeks, increasing pressure on airlines and affecting thousands of passengers.
