The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia has rejected claims that Serbia asked Russia not to address the issue of Kosovo and Metohija at the United Nations Security Council.

In a statement, the ministry dismissed the allegations as “tendentious, unfounded, and politically motivated,” describing them as an attempt to undermine public trust in Serbia’s institutions and create a false image of the country’s foreign policy priorities.

According to the ministry, preserving Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and raising concerns about the rights of Serbs in Kosovo remain among the top priorities of Serbian foreign policy.

The ministry emphasized that Serbia’s entire diplomatic and consular network, under the leadership of Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, is actively working to inform the international community about the situation of Serbs in Kosovo and the challenges they face.

Belgrade also stated that it will continue addressing the issue in the United Nations and other international forums, while cooperating with relevant international partners to protect what it described as Serbia’s state and national interests.
