The European Judo Union has highlighted the remarkable success of Distria Krasniqi, who claimed the gold medal at the European Judo Championships held in Tbilisi.
Under the headline “Krasniqi remains on top”, the EJU praised her outstanding performance, particularly the high-level final bout against Amandine Buchard in the women’s -52kg category, where Krasniqi emerged victorious.
The EJU described the final as an elite-level clash between two long-time rivals, emphasizing that their match delivered a spectacular display of top-tier judo.
“On the opening day of the 2026 European Championships, there were many big names to follow, but in the -52kg final, it was the familiar rivals Krasniqi and Buchard who delivered a high-class spectacle,” the EJU wrote.
