Changes in Albania’s Diplomatic Corps: President Begaj Dismisses 5 Ambassadors, Appoints 2 New Ones

President Bajram Begaj has decreed the dismissal of five Albanian ambassadors serving in diplomatic missions abroad, along with the appointment of two new ambassadors to the diplomatic service.

According to the decision, the dismissed ambassadors are Riza Poda (China and several non-resident postings in Asia), Bardhyl Canaj (Serbia), Sami Shiba (Egypt and multiple non-resident postings in the Middle East and Africa), Vasilika Hysi (Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva), and Albana Dautllari (Belgium and Luxembourg).

Meanwhile, President Begaj has appointed Gazmend Barbullushi as Ambassador to Belgium and non-resident Ambassador to Luxembourg.

Additionally, Albana Dautllari has been appointed as Albania’s Ambassador to the European Union.
