Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that Serbia continues to violate its international obligations by failing to clarify the fate of persons forcibly disappeared during the war in Kosovo, denying families their right to truth and justice.

Kurti made these remarks after paying tributes in Hallaq i Vogël and Rufc i Ri, commemorating April 19, 1999, when Serbian armed forces killed 20 Albanian civilians, who were later buried in a mass grave.

“Alongside denying genocidal crimes, Serbia continues to violate its international obligations by denying families the right to truth and justice, by not revealing the fate and whereabouts of persons forcibly disappeared during the war in Kosovo,” Kurti wrote on Facebook.

He also referred to the case of 23 intellectuals from Mitrovica—including doctors, professors, and human rights activists—who, according to him, were abducted and disappeared by Serbian forces near Zubin Potok during the war.

Kurti added that Serbia continues to deny crimes committed during the conflict, emphasizing that the sacrifice of those who fell for freedom remains a guiding principle for the state of Kosovo.
