Verdict Expected Today for Former OSCE Employee Jelena Gjukanović on Espionage Charges

The Basic Court of Prishtina is set to deliver its verdict today in the high-profile case of Jelena Gjukanović, a former OSCE staff member accused of espionage.

Considered one of the most significant national security cases ever handled by the Kosovo judiciary, the trial reaches its climax following months of intense legal proceedings. During the closing arguments, the Prosecution requested the maximum sentence of 25 years of imprisonment, underscoring the gravity of the alleged breach of state security.

Gjukanović, who previously worked for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), is charged with conducting intelligence activities detrimental to the Republic of Kosovo.

The court session for the announcement of the verdict is scheduled to begin at 13:15.
