Prime Minister Albin Kurti received a delegation led by the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, and the Chairman of the EU Military Committee, General Sean Clancy.

The Office of the Prime Minister stated that during the meeting, Kurti “expressed gratitude for NATO’s continued engagement and commitment to peace, stability, and deterrence in Kosovo and the Western Balkans, and said that KFOR’s role remains essential not only for the security of the country, but for the entire region.”

“Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that, for Kosovo, NATO is not only a security guarantor but also a strategic orientation and destination. In the context of the European integration process, he said that alongside the policy of accession, importance should also be given to the willingness for membership,” the statement said.

Kurti also informed the guests about “the increase in the level of security in the country.”

“After speaking about the increased level of security in the country, with special focus on the north, in a regional context the Prime Minister referred to destabilizing aims of Serbia, supported by Russia. Prime Minister Kurti also highlighted the close cooperation between the Kosovo Security Force and NATO,” the statement added.
