Kosovo’s Minister of Defence, Ejup Maqedonci, has hosted members of the NATO Military Committee, led by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, as well as the Chair of the European Union Military Committee, General Sean Clancy.
In a Facebook post, Maqedonci said that the meeting focused on current security developments, the advancement of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), and Kosovo’s role in regional and global security.
He stressed that Euro-Atlantic integration remains a clear strategic objective of the country.
“The strategic goal of the Republic of Kosovo for membership in the European Union and NATO is essential for stability and security in the region,” Maqedonci wrote.
The minister also underlined that the delegation was briefed on the Ministry of Defence’s strategic objectives for the next four years, which include the development of KSF capabilities, comprehensive defence, development of the defence industry, international cooperation, and self-sustainability.
According to him, membership in Euro-Atlantic structures represents a necessary step toward lasting peace and strengthening Europe’s security architecture.
“The Republic of Kosovo remains committed to being a reliable partner and contributor to collective security,” he added.
