Albanian students in North Macedonia have taken to the streets again today in protest over their demand to be allowed to take the bar (jurisprudence) exam in the Albanian language.
One of the protesters, speaking during the rally, said they received no response after the first protest, which is why they have returned to demonstrate again. Among other demands, the students also called for the resignation of Justice Minister Igor Filkov.
“Today we are here again, not because we want to protest, but because we have no answer. After the first protest, we waited for reflection, we waited for dialogue, we waited for institutional responsibility, we waited for the harmonization of the language law with the law on the bar exam, but what we received was silence instead of our request being fulfilled,” the protester said.
