Acting Minister of Finance, Labor, and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, has officially launched the government’s latest economic intervention program, dubbed the “Inflation Battle Package 2.0” (Pakoja për Përballje me Inflacionin 2.0).

The sweeping emergency relief framework introduces targeted financial supplements designed to immediately shore up disposable income for Kosovo’s most vulnerable demographics, as households grapple with stubborn inflationary pressures and an elevated cost of living.

Under this executive decision, the Ministry of Finance will deploy a series of one-off direct bank transfers aimed at sustaining domestic purchasing power across both public and non-public sectors.

   • Framework Objective: Direct cash injections to counter high consumer prices.
   • Total Cash Transfer: €100 ($115) per eligible individual across four brackets.
   • Primary Targets: Pensioners, Children, Private-Sector Workers, Students.
   • Implementation: Automated database payouts & targeted online application windows.

Breaking Down the €100 Payout Architecture

The package relies on flat-rate financial injections rather than tiered tax credits to ensure rapid deployment. The four major pillars of the emergency allocation include:

  • Pensioners: All active recipients of state pension schemes will receive an automatic €100 top-up on their upcoming monthly deposit.
  • Children: Families will receive a one-off €100 supplementary allowance per eligible child, expanding on the government’s ongoing universal child benefit program.
  • Non-Public Sector Workers: Recognizing the vulnerability of private-market laborers to wage stagnation, registered non-public sector employees will be allocated a €100 stimulus.
  • Active Students: Universally enrolled higher education students will receive €100 to offset rising academic, transport, and housing overheads.

Minister Murati on Fiscal Sustainability

Defending the strategy against critics who argue that direct cash injections risk fueling short-term consumer demand and further driving inflation, Minister Murati emphasized that the package is strategically balanced and funded entirely through enhanced tax revenue collection and tighter fiscal discipline.

“Our primary institutional obligation during global macroeconomic instability is to protect the standard of living for our citizens,” Murati stated during the rollout. “Inflation Battle Package 2.0 is a targeted, fiscally sound redistribution of state surplus directly back into the pockets of those who need it most—our students, our private sector workers, our children, and our retirees.”

The Ministry of Finance is expected to publish the operational timelines, execution dates, and digital application links via the centralized E-Kosova platform in the coming days.
