A major forest fire that broke out in the Herbón area of A Coruña Province continues to burn actively and remains out of control, according to local authorities.

Official reports indicate that the blaze has already affected approximately 330 hectares of land. Authorities have declared Alert Level 2 and ordered the evacuation of around ten homes located in areas considered at risk.

Although conditions appeared more stable during the morning hours, temperatures exceeding 30°C (86°F) and strong winds have significantly worsened the spread of the fire throughout the day.

The Mayor of Padrón, Anxo Rei Arca, stated that weather conditions have contributed to the increasing intensity of the flames.

So far, no casualties or damage to residential properties have been reported. However, authorities remain on high alert due to the wildfire’s proximity to populated areas.

The fire comes amid growing concern over the worsening wildfire situation across the Galicia region.
