Yesterday, the Kosovo Police arrested a person in Leposaviq on suspicion of identity theft.
The detained individual, identified by the initials M.K, has been held for 48 hours. The news was confirmed by the Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, Veton Elshani.
“The suspect was arrested on the streets of Leposaviq and subsequently, his apartment in northern Mitrovica was searched, where several material pieces of evidence were confiscated. The same individual, by the decision of the prosecutor, has been detained for 48 hours on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of ‘identity theft’,” Elshani said.
He added that the suspect has two identities – one for Serbian documents and another for Kosovo documents.
Meanwhile, according to local Serbian-language media, M.K is said to be an associate of the current Serbian Deputy Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vulin.
According to Serbian-language media, M.K was engaged in the “Most” network for several years in the position of a journalist and a member of the supervisory board of this network.
He was a close associate of the former director of the so-called Office for Kosovo, Aleksandar Vulin, and an official in his party, the Socialist Movement.
During the time when Vulin led the Office for Kosovo, M.K was responsible for media relations.
