The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK / IPK) celebrated its 20th anniversary on Thursday, reflecting on two decades of internal oversight, anti-corruption efforts, and structural consolidation within Kosovo’s law enforcement framework.
Speaking at the high-profile ceremony in Prishtina, PIK Chief Executive Officer Kushtrim Hoda detailed the agency’s evolution into a foundational pillar of democratic accountability and judicial integrity.
Two Decades of Public Trust and Accountability
Hoda underscored that since its inception in 2006, the Inspectorate’s primary operational objective has remained entirely unyielding: protecting civil rights by maintaining absolute legal oversight over police conduct.
“Today, we mark two decades driven by a clear, singular vision: the rule of law,” Hoda stated during his keynote address. “Over these twenty years, we have diligently investigated and processed thousands of citizen complaints. Through this uncompromised focus, PIK has earned the deep trust of our public, demonstrating consistently that no individual, regardless of rank or position, stands above the law.”

The Chief Executive emphasized that the successes achieved by PIK over the last 20 years are directly linked to tight-knit collaboration across domestic and international security portfolios. He extended formal gratitude to:
