A member of Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) was detained on Thursday evening at the Jarinjë border crossing.

The Kosovo Police confirmed the case, stating that the individual is from Kosovo and was questioned. According to the police, being questioned does not necessarily mean that the person will be placed in detention.

Meanwhile, a document from the Ministry of Internal Affairs states that on August 6, 2026, a decision was issued to revoke the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo from Vido Gjuriçiq, born on February 11, 1973, in Mitrovica.

According to the Ministry’s decision, Gjuriçiq was a citizen of Kosovo as well as a citizen of Serbia.

The decision states that Gjuriçiq “is a member of the police forces of another state” and that he had not obtained the required authorization from the competent authority.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, such conduct is associated with activities that pose a threat to the national security of the Republic of Kosovo.
