Russia has accused the United Kingdom of escalating the war in Ukraine after London agreed to provide Kyiv with classified information about British-made components used in Scalp long-range missiles.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the latest British support for Ukraine was “pouring gasoline on the fire” and accused London of obstructing efforts to advance peace negotiations.
“Britain is methodically and regularly pouring gasoline on the fire and methodically and regularly plotting to prevent any progress in the peace process,” Peskov said.
Commenting on British Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s visit to Kyiv and the new military support for Ukraine, Peskov accused Britain of directly participating in the war on Ukraine’s side.
The Kremlin spokesperson also warned that the Russian military was collecting intelligence to identify the locations of facilities where the missiles are produced, raising the possibility that such sites could become targets.
The statements from Moscow come as Britain has increased its military support for Ukraine, while Kyiv continues to seek stronger capabilities for both defense and long-range strikes.
