The Serbian civic association “Badnjak” has announced a three-day pilgrimage from Belgrade to Kosovo at the end of September, with participants set to visit several Serbian Orthodox churches and monasteries, as well as predominantly Serb communities.
The pilgrimage is scheduled for September 26–28, with departure from Belgrade planned for midnight between Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26.
According to the organizers, the route will include Gračanica, Velika Hoča, Orahovac, Prizren, Visoki Dečani and the Peć Patriarchate, covering religious sites and Serbian-majority areas in Kosovo and Metohija.
Details regarding the cost and travel conditions have been published by the organizers. The program also includes a humanitarian component, although no further details have been provided about its specific purpose.
Pilgrimage trips to Kosovo and Metohija have become increasingly popular in recent years, particularly multi-day routes combining major Serbian Orthodox monasteries with churches and predominantly Serb-populated communities. Several organizers offer repeated dates throughout the year in response to continued interest.
The announcement comes as Kosovo institutions have begun inspections of unlicensed tourist guides, raising questions about the position of Serbian pilgrimage groups. The issue has also prompted a response from the Raška-Prizren Eparchy, while Kosovo authorities have clarified that pilgrimage itself does not constitute tourist guiding.
The planned visit is expected to bring another group of Serbian pilgrims to some of Kosovo’s most significant Serbian Orthodox religious sites, including Visoki Dečani and the Peć Patriarchate.
