The countdown has begun in The Hague, with only a few hours remaining until the verdict in the trial of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
The verdicts for Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi are scheduled to be announced on September 16 by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
Ahead of the decision, citizens from Kosovo and the diaspora have gathered in The Hague after travelling to be near the Specialist Chambers on the day the verdict is expected.
Interest in the verdict is also high across Kosovo, where September 16 is expected to be followed with particular attention. In addition to the large screen set up at Skanderbeg Square in Pristina, a screen has also been installed in The Hague, allowing those gathered there to follow the proceedings.
PDK MP Enver Hoxhaj also shared footage from outside the Specialist Chambers, showing the atmosphere in The Hague ahead of the highly anticipated verdict.
