Following the verdict against former President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Jakup Krasniqi, his son, Altin Krasniqi, shared an emotional message, expressing the pain felt by him and his family after six years of waiting.
“A human being is stronger than stone. What stone cannot bear, a human being can,” Krasniqi wrote, quoting his father’s words.
He said that despite the injustices he believes had been done to his father, Jakup Krasniqi had always held his head high.
“Life has been unfair to you, but you still stood with your head held high. Six years of waiting, six years of pain, and we never once saw you lower your head,” he wrote.
He stressed that the 25-year prison sentence had not broken his father, but had deeply affected the family and their faith in justice.
“After this verdict, you were not broken. Something inside us was broken. Our faith in justice was broken,” he said.
The PDK lawmaker added that the family would continue to remain strong, just as, according to him, his father had taught them.
“But we will continue to stand. Just as you taught us. With pain in our hearts, but with our heads held high. With your head held high, Dad. Always.”
