The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, has called for Kosovo to be granted full membership rights in the Adriatic Charter A5.
He made the request during the Adriatic Charter conference, which was held this year in Zadar, Croatia.
In his remarks, Jashari said that the KSF’s successful transition and its readiness to contribute to international missions make Kosovo a reliable partner.
He emphasized that Kosovo deserves to be fully included in Euro-Atlantic security structures and initiatives.
The conference was chaired by the Commander of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), General Alexus G. Grynkewich. Chiefs of defense from Western Balkan countries also attended.
The conference addressed current security challenges and the need for increased regional cooperation, according to the statement, as reported by Sinjali.
Jashari also held meetings with senior international military officials, including EUCOM Commander General Grynkewich and Deputy Commander of JFC Naples, General Peter K. Scot.
The meetings focused on cooperation between the armed forces, operational coordination, and support for the development of defense capabilities.
Jashari also met with the Commander of the Iowa National Guard, Major General Stephen Osborn. They discussed strengthening the partnership between the two forces.
