The Kosovo Security Force (FSK) has advanced its technical capabilities for maintaining HMMWV vehicles through a “Maintenance Event” training held at the SMAR facility at Gjakova Airport.
As part of the continued development and advancement of the Kosovo Security Force’s professional capabilities, the training brought together FSK personnel with members of the U.S. Iowa National Guard, providing an opportunity to exchange experience and strengthen technical knowledge in the maintenance of HMMWV vehicles.
During the training, FSK personnel developed practical skills in the inspection, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of the HMMWV’s main systems, with particular focus on the transmission, fuel system, and electronic systems.
An important component of the training was also the development of FSK instructors’ capabilities, creating opportunities for the knowledge and experience gained during the training to be transferred to other members of the Force.
The activity represents another step toward strengthening the FSK’s technical and professional capabilities, increasing efficiency in vehicle maintenance, and reinforcing sustained cooperation with the Iowa National Guard.
