Kosovo’s Prime Minister and leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, is holding another meeting with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza.
Kurti is accompanied at the meeting by MP and Finance Minister Hekuran Murati, while Hamza is accompanied by PDK MP Rrahman Rama.
The meeting is taking place after the Assembly approved in principle amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers, at a time when Vetëvendosje and PDK remain divided over the bill’s passage to a second reading.
Vetëvendosje is calling for the Assembly to elect Kosovo’s new president before the second vote on the amendments to the law, while PDK insists that the amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers should be approved first, followed by the procedure for electing the president.
The constitutional deadline for electing the president expires on October 6.
