During the inauguration ceremony, Acting President Albulena Haxhiu handed the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo to the new President, Justina Shiroka-Pula, officially marking the beginning of her term in office.
Shiroka-Pula was elected president with 81 votes from MPs in a vote held at midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, on the final day of the constitutional deadline for electing the president.
She secured the presidency following a political agreement between the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).
