Activist and head of the PDK branch in Regensburg, Shqiptar Gubetini, welcomed the Kosovo Assembly’s approval, in second reading, of the Law on the Specialist Chambers.
“The approval of the Law on the Specialist Chambers is extraordinary news for Kosovo and our liberation war. I congratulate all Assembly members who, through their vote, demonstrated that they are against rewriting and distorting our glorious history,” he said.
Gubetini said he expects the law to be promulgated as soon as possible by the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka-Pula.
“While congratulating Ms. Justina Shiroka-Pula on her election as President of Kosovo, I call on her to promulgate the Law on the Specialist Chambers as soon as possible. It would also be an honor for her if, as her first act as president, she were to put her signature on the law that protects our liberators and our sacred war,” Gubetini said, expressing his conviction that the law will serve the cause of justice.
Gubetini, one of the main organizers of protests in Munich, Germany, in support of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, has managed to unite Albanians in the diaspora regardless of party affiliation. He said that the protesters in Kosovo and the diaspora deserve the most credit for the Assembly’s approval of the Specialist Chambers law.
“The steadfast protesters in Kosovo and the diaspora deserve the greatest credit for the approval of the Law on the Specialist Chambers. Thanks to their perseverance, determination and resistance, Assembly members were forced to hear their voice. This proves that when we are united, no one can stop us. Forever proud of the KLA, the KLA leaders and Albanians wherever they are, in Kosovo and the diaspora,” Gubetini said.
