Anti-government protests in Tirana entered their 135th consecutive day on Monday, with demonstrators marching toward the Prime Minister’s Office and later moving to its rear entrance following a series of speeches.
As on previous days, protesters initially gathered at Skanderbeg Square before marching along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard and assembling in front of the government headquarters.
During the rally, demonstrators continued calling for the government and the country’s political establishment to step down, saying the public had lost confidence in them.
After the speeches concluded, protesters moved to the rear entrance of the Prime Minister’s Office, blocking traffic along the adjacent road.
According to Top Channel, the move came after an activist announced that Prime Minister Edi Rama was inside his office at the time.
Police intervened shortly afterward, blocking the road to prevent demonstrators from approaching the rear entrance of the building.
The protest marks another day of sustained demonstrations in the Albanian capital, with participants continuing to demand political change and accountability from the country’s leadership.
