Moments after he was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday afternoon, Donald Trump was seen with blood on his ear and cheek as he hurried from the scene.
The audio reveals how the chaotic shooting scene unfolded from the perspective of Trump and those involved in his protection.
Trump was in the middle of speaking when several shots rang out. He pinches his ear as Secret Service agents surround him. “Get off, get off, get off,” says one.
Another shot is heard and a woman screams, CNN reports.
Several voices of Secret Service agents are heard – one says “up!” another “the stairs are ready, the stairs are ready”.
Trump can also be heard, but his words are slurred. More agents enter the scene. Trump supporters in the background look shocked as some record with their phones.
After hearing that the assassin is down, Trump and the agents rise to their feet.

Trump: Let me get my shoes, let me get my shoes.
Agent 1: “I understand you sir, I understand you sir.”
Trump: Let me get my shoes.
Another agent: “Wait, your head is bloody.”
Agent 1: “Sir, we have to go to…”.
Trump: Let me get my shoes.
A female agent says “okay” before adding something about the shoe.
Trump: “Wait, wait, wait.”
He then points his fist at the crowd and says the word “war” three times – a move that was met with cheers.
Trump and the Secret Service team leave the podium and head toward the vehicles as the crowd chants “U.S. USA. USA.”.
