The declaration of the so-called “Serbian World” with 49 articles is being transformed into a new Constitution for Serbs across the region.
The Parliament in Belgrade, through an extraordinary session, discussed the document in question for many hours, with Kosovo being the focal point of clashes.
Prime Minister Milosh Vučević defended the declaration of the Serbian world, saying it would be an umbrella for all Serbs in the region.
“It is recommended that the institutions of Serbia and Republika Srpska act in a unified and coordinated manner to stop the assimilation of Serbs in the states of the region, but also in the world. Kosovo is an inseparable part of the Republic of Serbia and its territorial integrity and sovereignty,” said the Serbian Prime Minister, ignoring the reality that Kosovo is an independent state and internationally recognized by the decision of the International Court of Justice.
“Long live Kosovo, long live Serbia,” said Vučević in closing his speech.
There were then accusations between opposition and majority deputies over which side is accepting Kosovo’s independence. The session was adjourned to resume again on Wednesday.
