The Olympic Team of Kosovo—particularly the judo team—has excelled in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

While many Kosovar athletes have set personal and national records at the Paris Olympics, judo has managed to bring home two medals for Kosovo—one silver and one bronze. In fact, Kosovo performs significantly better in terms of medals per capita compared to many large countries.

Kosovo is ranked 6th globally in this regard, ahead of countries like Australia, Croatia, the Netherlands, and Ireland, which close out the top 10.

Kosovo also has more Olympic medals this year than Indonesia, Austria, Argentina, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, and many others.

So far, 140 countries have yet to win any medals at Paris 2024, and there are 102 other countries that have never won an Olympic medal in their history.

This year, Distria Krasniqi secured the silver medal for Kosovo, while Laura Fazliu won the bronze.

Kosovo has a total of five Olympic medals, including the gold won by Majlinda Kelmendi at Rio 2016 and two additional golds from Distria Krasniqi and Nora Gjakova at Tokyo 2020.
