Following reports of last night’s murder in Ferizaj and the connection between Vjosa Osmani’s husband and the victim, the President herself has reacted.
She stated, “After informing the security institutions and preparing all legal measures, I am making this public response to the unprecedented propaganda launched by Berat Buzhala and his media outlet, which is being perpetuated by other portals as well,” she writes.
According to her, Buzhala and others, by implicating her and her husband in situations with which they have no connection, have a clear intention of inciting hatred, which then results in violence.

After informing the security institutions and preparing all legal measures, I am making this public response to the unprecedented propaganda launched by Berat Buzhala and his media outlet, the online newspaper “Nacionale,” which is being perpetuated by other portals as well.
I inform the citizens of Kosovo that neither I nor my husband have any knowledge or connection with the circumstances leading to last night’s murder, let alone any knowledge of any alleged rape case.
I urgently request that the security and justice institutions investigate the circumstances that have led Buzhala and others to spread this misinformation. Buzhala, with “Nacionale,” and others, by implicating me and my husband in situations with which we have no connection, have a clear intention of inciting hatred, which then results in violence.
This false and dangerous connection created by these portals, with full awareness and with the intention of endangering my life and that of my family, while the competent authorities are investigating the case, shows their direct tendency to endanger lives by falsely implicating us, even in supposed interference in the judiciary.
I once again urge all security and justice institutions to prioritize investigating all the circumstances of this event, as well as the actions of this portal and similar portals that have a clear intention of endangering lives and inciting hatred—a mission that is also seen in Serbian portals.
