Kosovo Secures Second Victory at World Championship!

The U-18 women’s handball team of Kosovo has achieved their second victory at the World Championship in China.

On Sunday morning, our national team defeated Canada with a score of 26:20.

The difference was made in the second half, where our girls outperformed the Canadians. The first half ended with a score of 12:9 for Canada, but in the second half, the Kosovo team made a strong comeback.

The match was part of Group II of the President’s Cup, where teams compete for positions 17 through 32. This is the second group stage. The top 16 teams compete to advance to the knockout stage, while the other 16 aim for better placement.

Sara Gjergjaj shone for Kosovo and was named the best player of the match. She made a difference with her individual bursts, especially in the second half.

She scored seven goals from seven attempts. Diona Dreshaj and Andra Uglani each scored four goals, while Arona Krasniqi added three.

In two days, our national team will play against South Korea.
