A contingent of the Bulgarian Armed Forces has been certified to participate in the NATO-led peacekeeping operation in Kosovo, KFOR, the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday.
The combat capabilities of the contingent were evaluated by a committee from the Joint Forces Command and the Land Forces during a tactical company exercise held at the Koren Training Area in the Haskovo region of Bulgaria.
“The contingent is mainly composed of military personnel from the 4th Artillery Regiment. It also includes service members from the 101st Alpine Regiment and the 110th Logistics Regiment of the Land Forces, as well as service members from the Mobile Communication and Information System of the Joint Forces Command,” stated the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense.
Major Milen Zlatev of the 4th Artillery Regiment serves as the commander of the national support element and deputy national commander of the contingent.
“The commander of the maneuvering company is Captain Kaloyan Dimitrov of the 4th Artillery Regiment,” the Ministry’s press release added.
