Prime Minister Albin Kurti has reiterated his request for the signing of the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Annex of Ohrid during yesterday’s meeting in New York with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James O’Brien, U.S. Envoy for the Western Balkans Alexander Kasanof, and EU envoy for dialogue Miroslav Lajčak. Kurti emphasized that signing and implementing this agreement is an essential tool for progress.

He had also presented this request during a meeting with EU Chief Diplomat Josep Borrell in June of this year.

“We discussed the dialogue and regional cooperation ahead of the 10th anniversary of the Berlin Process. During our conversation, I highlighted the need for signing and implementing the Basic Agreement and its Annex as an essential tool for progress. I also reaffirmed our country’s commitment to cooperation, regional prosperity, equal rights, and strong protection of human rights in a thriving multi-ethnic society,” Kurti wrote on his account on the platform “X” after the meeting.

In addition to the dialogue, they also discussed the Berlin Process.

Kurti described his discussions with O’Brien, Kasanof, and Lajčak as productive.
