The Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, has said that he is afraid that on October 14, when the Berlin Process Summit will be held , “there will be new provocations” from Kosovo “against the Serbs”. He mentioned the possibility of an attack on “our temporary institutions” in Kosovo. “I’m afraid that on Monday you will see some new provocation from Prishtina, because people who are veterans of those events have told me how many times there was a meeting at the planned level, something bad happened to us in Kosovo. I hope this will not happen, but I am worried that Kurti will do something that morning, like attack our temporary institutions or municipalities in the Serbian system,” said Serbian Prime Minister Vucevic on Vojvodina radio and television (RTV).
He stated that the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, will also be in Berlin, but that there will not be a bilateral meeting with him, but it will be in a format where they will be together. “Maybe neither he nor I will be very comfortable, but we were not elected to be comfortable, but to protect the interests of our country. It is much worse to be absent and decisions are made for us without us”, said Vučević.
Among other things, he said that “it is in our interest to maintain peace and political stability in the region and for Serbia to develop in peace”. Vucevic emphasized that the Berlin Process is important for regional stability, and that it has achieved results that should not be underestimated, with more or less success. Asked if he expects even stronger pressure in the coming period, Vučević answered that he certainly expects it, mainly around Kosovo. “I don’t think there will be less pressure regarding the imposition of sanctions on Russia, but I think everyone has seen that we have no intention of giving up our policy and will not impose them. I believe that we are facing a lot of pressure for Kosovo, and by this I am not saying that bad things are happening for Serbia, I am just saying that there will be pressure”, Vučević said. The Berlin Process summit will be held this Monday (October 14) and will be hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
