Kosovo’s Chief Negotiator for the European Union, Jeton Zulfaj, met with UNICEF’s Head of Office in Kosovo, Veronika Vashchenko, to discuss the implementation of the country’s Reform Agenda, with a particular focus on strengthening human capital and advancing early childhood education reforms.
Vashchenko was accompanied by Dafina Krasniqi, UNICEF’s Early Childhood Development Officer, during the meeting, which centered on improving access to quality early childhood education and supporting reforms aimed at fostering children’s development.
The participants highlighted UNICEF’s contribution to promoting equal access and ensuring quality standards in early childhood education institutions across Kosovo.
Zulfaj expressed his appreciation for UNICEF’s continued partnership and support in implementing reforms related to early childhood development, emphasizing the organization’s role in helping advance key priorities within Kosovo’s broader reform agenda.
The meeting also explored opportunities for continued cooperation on projects aimed at protecting children’s rights and improving their well-being.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation, with the Government of Kosovo emphasizing its determination to work alongside UNICEF and other international partners to strengthen policies that promote the rights, education and welfare of children.
