Anti-government protests in Albania’s capital entered their 52nd consecutive day on Tuesday, with demonstrators gathering once again outside the Prime Minister’s Office to press for political reforms and early elections.
The protest began in Skanderbeg Square, where participants assembled before marching along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard toward the government headquarters in central Tirana.
During the rally, protest organizers and participants addressed the crowd, reiterating their demands and pledging to continue demonstrations until their objectives are met.
Among the protesters’ key demands are the resignation of the current government, the establishment of a 12-month technical government, the organization of early parliamentary elections, amendments to Albania’s Electoral Code, and revisions to the Law on Strategic Investments and the so-called Mountains Package.
According to participants, the demonstrations will continue throughout August if the government does not respond to their demands.
The protest movement has become one of the longest-running continuous demonstrations in Albania in recent years, reflecting ongoing political tensions and calls for institutional reforms.
