Today, the Kosovo Police marks 27 years since its establishment.
On September 6, 1999, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, opened the Police School and began training candidates to become members of the Kosovo Police.
The first generation of candidates for membership in this service began their training at the school on September 6, 1999. This generation consisted of 176 members, who successfully completed their training and subsequently began carrying out police duties throughout the territory of Kosovo, becoming the first police officers of this service.
