The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced that Unit B2 of the Kosovo B Power Plant will be shut down in a controlled procedure on October 24, 2026, at approximately 12:15 a.m. due to identified technical problems.

According to KEK, the shutdown is a preventive measure intended to protect equipment from potential damage and ensure operational safety.

“Professional and technical teams are on standby and will begin repairs as soon as the necessary conditions are met. Based on current assessments, the work is expected to be completed over the weekend,” KEK said in a statement.

The corporation added that it would provide further information in due course regarding the unit’s return to operation.
