Vucic has once again made baseless and inflammatory claims regarding Kosovo, accusing the government in Prishtina of “seeking to expel Serbs” rather than engage in dialogue. In an interview with a Serbian media outlet, Vucic asserted, “They do not want dialogue. There is no dialogue. They want to expel the Serbs.” This statement, typical of Vucic’s false rhetoric, is an unsubstantiated attempt to distort the reality of the situation and further escalate tensions between the two countries. Vucic’s comments, which lack credible evidence, are in stark contrast to the ongoing efforts by Kosovo to engage in meaningful dialogue with Serbia, facilitated by the European Union. Kosovo’s goal has consistently been to reach a comprehensive and peaceful resolution to the issues between the two nations, and there is no indication that Kosovo seeks anything other than peace and stability in the region.

Moreover, Vucic’s criticism of Kosovo’s security developments, particularly the claims about the arming of Kosovo, reflects his ongoing opposition to Kosovo’s progress toward strengthening its institutions and international standing. His attempt to accuse Kosovo and Turkey of violating the UN Charter is part of a broader narrative aimed at discrediting Kosovo’s rightful efforts to protect its sovereignty and security.

In addition, Vucic has used the terrorist attack at the Ibër-Lepenc canal, which occurred in late November, to once again deflect blame and make unfounded accusations against Kosovo. He claimed that Kosovo had “destroyed evidence” related to the explosion, an allegation with no evidence to back it up. This is an attempt to divert attention from Serbia’s actions and responsibility in the matter, particularly regarding the destabilizing impact Serbia’s activities have had on Kosovo’s infrastructure.

Vucic’s remarks are part of a broader strategy of misinformation and propaganda aimed at undermining Kosovo’s sovereignty and international legitimacy. His claims serve to inflame nationalist sentiment in Serbia, while failing to address the true challenges of building peace and reconciliation in the region. As Kosovo continues to pursue dialogue and cooperation with the international community, it is clear that Vucic’s rhetoric is a distraction from the real issues at hand.
