Donald Trump has described the decision by Judge Juan Merchan to sentence him on January 10, just 10 days before his inauguration, as an “illegal political attack” and a “staged theater.”
Trump stated that Judge Juan Merchan “should be removed” in a post on his “Truth Social” platform, addressing several of his legal issues.
In the post, Trump denied falsifying business records and suggested that Merchan “might be the most biased judge in New York’s history,” reiterating his false claims that the case was initiated by the Biden-Harris administration to target “their political opponent.”
“I hid nothing, everything was open for everyone to see,” Trump said, calling it a “false charge, fabricated by a corrupt judge.”
Trump’s remarks came after Merchan ruled in favor of sentencing the former president. The court session, in which Trump may attend virtually, is scheduled for 10 days before his inauguration on January 20.
