In Pristina on February 18, 2025, Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (KQZ) announced the rejection of over 2,000 ballot envelopes from the diaspora in the ongoing electoral process.
Valmir Elezi, the spokesperson for the KQZ, shared that out of 28,099 packages submitted for postal voting, 2,057 were rejected due to issues with voter registration.
The reasons for rejection include ballots being sent by individuals whose registrations had been canceled, missing registration certificates, or being sent more than once.
As of now, 26,013 packages have been approved, with further evaluation continuing for the remaining submissions.
The total number of packages sent for postal voting was 69,000, with the final tally to be confirmed once all the envelopes undergo counting.
The KQZ reassured that the evaluation process would ensure that only legitimate ballots are included in the official count.
