Schools across Pristina will dedicate the first lesson of the school day tomorrow, September 16, to the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), the history of Kosovo’s liberation war, and the contribution of those who fought for the country’s freedom.
The Directorate of Education of the Municipality of Pristina has instructed school administrations to devote the first class to age-appropriate discussions on the KLA’s war, the sacrifices made by Kosovo’s citizens for freedom, and the ongoing Hague proceedings against former KLA leaders.
According to the Municipality of Pristina, the initiative aims to help students learn about the country’s recent history and reflect on the importance of freedom, peace, and historical memory.
“The purpose of this lesson is for students to become familiar with the recent history of our country and reflect on the importance of freedom, peace, and historical memory,” the official notice states.
