Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the UK government will allow Ukraine to use £1.6 billion from the UK’s export financing to purchase over five thousand air defense missiles.
He stated that these will be produced in Belfast, creating jobs in the UK’s defense sector.
The aim, according to Starmer, is to position Ukraine as strongly as possible so that they can negotiate from a position of strength.
“Europe must make the heavy lift, but U.S. support is essential,” the Prime Minister stated.
