Ukrainian deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should apologize to his counterpart, Donald Trump, following their dispute at the White House.

“Zelensky made a mistake at the White House, and he should do everything possible to repair relations with President Donald Trump. I am not a big supporter of Zelensky, but he will be the president of Ukraine until the end of the war because elections cannot be held in this situation,” Goncharenko said in an interview with A2 CNN.

He further emphasized that America’s help is crucial for Ukraine, as European support is not enough.

“Europe alone cannot give us what we need. Russian tanks cannot be destroyed with statements or social media posts. We need concrete support. We are not happy with the shift in the U.S. approach to support, but this is the situation we find ourselves in now.”

“We are ready for peace, and I believe Trump can achieve peace, but we cannot cross the red lines, which are Ukraine’s sovereignty, the type of army it has, and the guarantee that Russia will no longer attack. It’s not just Ukraine; we are defending Europe now. In 1994, we had the third-largest nuclear arsenal in the world, and we were asked by the U.S. and the United Kingdom to dismantle it, as they guaranteed us that we wouldn’t need it. And here we are today,” said the Ukrainian deputy.
