The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) announced on Sunday that there has been an increase in fires across the country. One of the largest fires is currently reported in the municipality of Deçan, in the area known as “Çeli,” where an area with chestnut trees and bushes has been engulfed in flames.
According to the agency, the fire is now under control.
“Upon receiving the notification, forces from the Deçan and Junik Fire Departments, members of the Forest Agency, and volunteers have been mobilized. Teams are working intensively to extinguish and prevent the further spread of the fire. Currently, the fire is under control,” the announcement stated.
The Emergency Management Agency has called for increased caution from all citizens, particularly during the dry season, urging them to avoid starting fires outdoors and to immediately report any suspicious cases to the emergency number 112.
